Today is not the end of anything

You sometimes involve youself in some task so much that you start to ignore/neglect other tasks. You create a wrong estimate in your head about finishing the task on the same day itself just because you ‘want’ to see light at the end of the tunnel.

But, the difference between ‘want and get' is the difference between ‘fiction and reality’.

Once the clock strikes 12, midnight, and you finally realise that you failed to finish your task because you estimated it to be a 1 day task, but it’s actually a 1 week task or more.

Now it’s 12, you are hungry because you skipped your dinner, sweating because you failed to finish your work, confused because you are stressed and your mind is now numb. You also compromised with the quality of work because you were rushing and competing with the clock.

Sometimes this can be depressing and demotivating to such an extent that we may even leave the task incomplete and we start to fear taking up similar tasks in future.

It is then when you go back to your bed/sit down on a chair, alone, your eyes closed, you breathe, relax and realise -

Every task is equally important to maintain a balance in life. Today isn’t the end of anything.
